Here in Peru, kids start school early (as early as 18 months!), and they are serious about school. Preschool is called "Nido," which means nest in Spanish. David has a uniform (shorts and t-shirt for the summer; gym suit for the winter), books, notebooks (for homework!), and his "lonchera" (lunchbox/backpack). There is no messing around here. They have music on Tuesdays, karate on Wednesdays (we have to buy a karate uniform) and expresion corporal (sort of like theater) on Thursdays. He arrives at school at 8:30 in the morning and is done at 12:30. David is in the Elmo room with other two to two and a half year olds. He loves the little tikes cozy coupe!

Amigos...

Novios! (I think David is being a little coy...)

David in his "aula" (room) with his teacher's assistant Miss Judith. David really likes his teacher Miss Katty (short for Katherine) and Miss Judith - he's always excited to go see them in the morning. You can see his artwork on the wall behind him.

Headed home after a long day with his new lonchera...

This is so cute! I love the uniforms and the "amigos" photo. But I'm dying to know, what does he have for homework?
